How to Show Gratitude

By Braeden Lagasse on 2/11/22

There are many different ways to show gratitude, so often times we wonder - what is the best? The truth is most ways of showing gratitude are great. Thank You Cards, spoken gratitude, even writing down everything you're thankful for still gives you the same benefits. However, all of the effective ways of showing gratitude can be broken down into three different key elements - using one or all three of these as a guide to showing gratitude is advised.

Number One: Noticing Good Things
The first way to practice gratitude is by noticing good things. Look for what is good in your life and appreciate it. You don't have to share it in any way, but if you know that you're grateful for something you're effectively practicing gratitude to yourself.

Number Two: Savor Good Things
Now that you know what you're grateful for, try paying attention to really savoring and absorbing those things. Think about the things you are happy about and how grateful you are to have them. Make the most out of the things you have, instead of looking at something new.

Number Three: Express Gratitude
Now that you know what you're grateful for and you've savored it, the next step is to express your gratitude. There are different ways to express gratitude, such as writing everything you're grateful for on a piece of paper or telling your friends and/or family that you're thankful for them. Choose the option that best expresses your gratitude and is the most comfortable to you.
